Down Came the Ocelot is a painting of a spotted forest cat twisting her way down to the ground

Here's Ana, the ocelot (Leopardus pardalis) we met in the cerrado of Mato Grosso, Brazil. What a cat! In this painting I've pictured her climbing over the dry branches and between the spiralling vines, twisting as she descends to the forest floor.
I have tried to express something of how Ana's beautiful camouflage echoes the patterns of the forest trees and branches. Not only the colours and shapes of the ocelot's spots and stripes, but also in the sinuous way she moves, twisting like vines.
